The first step in selling to CoinDuffle is getting a quote for the items you want to sell. Quotes are generated in real time based on current metal prices and market conditions, so you'll always know exactly what your items are worth.

Browsing the Buyback Catalog

To see what CoinDuffle is currently buying:

1. Navigate to Account → Buyback or visit the buyback section of the site.
2. Browse the buyback catalog — a list of all items CoinDuffle is actively purchasing.

The catalog is organized by category:

• Gold Coins
• Silver Coins
• Platinum Coins
• Gold Bars
• Silver Bars
• Graded Coins

Each item in the catalog shows:

• Item name and description — The specific product (e.g., "1 oz American Gold Eagle, Any Year")
• Current buyback price — The price CoinDuffle will pay per unit, based on the live spot price
• Metal weight and purity — The precious metal content of the item
• Price basis — Whether the price is metal-based (spot-linked) or fixed (for numismatic items)

Selecting Items for Your Quote

Once you've found items you want to sell:

1. Select the item from the catalog.
2. Enter the quantity — How many of that item do you want to sell?
3. Repeat for any additional items you want to include in the same quote.
4. Review your selections — See a line-by-line breakdown of items, quantities, and per-unit prices.

Understanding Live Pricing on Quotes

Because buyback prices are linked to the live spot price of precious metals, the quote you see can change as metal prices fluctuate. Here's what to know:

• Prices update in real time — As you browse the catalog and build your quote, the prices shown reflect the current market.
• Quote total fluctuates — Until you accept the quote, the total will change as spot prices move.
• No obligation — Getting a quote is free and doesn't commit you to selling.

Locking In Your Price (Price Lock TTL)

When you're ready to commit, CoinDuffle offers a price lock feature:

1. Click "Lock Price" on your quote summary.
2. The current prices are locked for a limited time (the "TTL" or time-to-live), typically 15–30 minutes.
3. A countdown timer shows how long you have to accept the quote at the locked price.
4. If you accept within the time window, you're guaranteed the locked price.
5. If the timer expires, the lock releases and prices revert to live market rates. You can lock again at the current price.

The price lock protects you from sudden market drops between the time you decide to sell and when you formally accept the quote. It also protects CoinDuffle from buying at stale prices if the market moves significantly.

Accepting the Quote

Once you've locked your price and reviewed the details:

1. Click Accept Quote.
2. Confirm that you agree to the terms.
3. You'll receive shipping instructions for sending your items to CoinDuffle.

After accepting, the quote becomes a binding agreement at the locked price (subject to CoinDuffle's verification of the items upon receipt).

Tips for Getting the Best Quote

• Watch the market — If you're not in a rush to sell, monitor metal prices and sell when the market is favorable. CoinDuffle's price pages and charts can help you track trends.
• Sell popular items — Common bullion products (American Eagles, Maple Leafs, major brand bars) typically get better buyback spreads because they're easier to resell.
• Verify your items — Make sure you correctly identify what you have. An item that's misidentified in the quote will need to be corrected after receipt, which could change the payout amount.
• Sell in quantity — Larger quantities may qualify for better per-unit pricing. Check the catalog for any volume-based pricing tiers.
• Check the catalog regularly — The list of accepted items and pricing can change based on market conditions and CoinDuffle's inventory needs.
