How to use the Q&A system on CoinDuffle product pages to ask questions, get answers, and help other buyers.
Product Questions
Every product on CoinDuffle has a built-in Questions & Answers section where buyers can ask questions about the item and receive answers from the seller or other community members. It's a great way to get the information you need before making a purchase.
How the Q&A System Works
The Q&A section appears near the bottom of every product detail page. It shows all questions that have been asked about that specific product, along with any answers.
Asking a Question
- Navigate to the product page for the item you have a question about.
- Scroll down to the "Questions & Answers" section.
- Type your question in the text field and click Submit Question.
- Your question will appear on the product page and the seller will be notified.
Questions are visible to all visitors, so other buyers can benefit from the answers too.
Viewing Answers
When a seller or community member answers a question, the answer appears directly below the question on the product page. Sellers' answers are marked with a Seller badge so you can easily identify official responses.
What to Ask About
The Q&A section is ideal for questions like:
- Condition details — "Are there any scratches or spots not visible in the photos?"
- Authentication — "Does this come with a certificate of authenticity?"
- Packaging — "Is this in the original mint packaging?"
- Specifics — "What is the exact weight?" or "What mint mark does this have?"
- Shipping — "Can you ship this in a different type of holder?"
- Provenance — "Where was this coin acquired?"
What Not to Ask
The Q&A section is for product-specific questions. Avoid:
- Personal information — Don't share your email, phone number, or address in questions.
- Negotiation — Don't try to negotiate prices in the Q&A. Contact the seller directly if needed.
- Off-topic discussion — Keep questions relevant to the specific product.
- Support requests — For account or order issues, contact CoinDuffle support directly.
Upvoting and Downvoting
The community can help surface the most useful questions and answers:
- Upvote a question or answer by clicking the thumbs-up icon if you find it helpful. Questions with more upvotes appear higher in the list.
- Downvote a question or answer by clicking the thumbs-down icon if it's not helpful or is inappropriate.
This voting system helps ensure the most valuable information rises to the top, making it easier for future buyers to find the answers they need.
Notifications
When someone answers your question, you'll receive a notification. Make sure your notification preferences are up to date in Account → Settings to ensure you don't miss responses.
Tips for Getting Good Answers
- Be specific — Instead of "Is this coin good?", try "What is the condition of the rim, and are there any contact marks on the obverse?"
- Check existing Q&A first — Someone may have already asked your question. Read through existing questions and answers before posting.
- One question at a time — If you have multiple questions, post them separately so each can be answered individually and other buyers can upvote the ones they also want answered.
- Be patient — Sellers are notified of new questions but may not respond immediately, especially outside business hours. Most sellers respond within 24–48 hours.
