Managing Addresses
How to add, edit, and manage your shipping and billing addresses on CoinDuffle, including address validation.
Managing Addresses
CoinDuffle lets you save multiple shipping and billing addresses to your account so you can check out quickly without re-entering your information every time. You can manage your addresses from your account dashboard or add new ones during checkout.
Adding a New Address
From Your Account
- Navigate to Account → Addresses.
- Click Add New Address.
- Fill in the address form:
- Full Name — The recipient's name as it should appear on the shipping label.
- Street Address — Your house or building number and street name.
- Apartment / Suite / Unit — Optional. Include this if applicable to ensure delivery.
- City — Your city or town.
- State — Select your state from the dropdown.
- ZIP Code — Your 5-digit or 9-digit ZIP code.
- Phone Number — A phone number where the carrier can reach you if there are delivery issues.
- Click Save Address.
During Checkout
If you don't have a saved address or want to ship to a new location:
- On the shipping step of checkout, click Use a New Address.
- Fill in the address fields as described above.
- Optionally check Save this address to add it to your account for future use.
Google Maps Autocomplete
When typing your address, CoinDuffle uses Google Maps autocomplete to suggest matching addresses in real time. This feature:
- Speeds up entry — Start typing and select your address from the suggestions instead of filling out every field manually.
- Reduces errors — Autocomplete helps ensure your address is formatted correctly and matches a real, deliverable location.
- Fills in details automatically — When you select a suggestion, the city, state, and ZIP code are filled in for you.
If your address doesn't appear in the suggestions, you can still type it manually.
Address Validation
After you enter or select an address, CoinDuffle validates it to confirm it's a real, deliverable location. If there's an issue, you'll see a notification:
- Minor corrections — If we detect a minor formatting issue (like a missing ZIP+4 code), we may suggest a corrected version. You can accept the suggestion or keep your original entry.
- Unrecognized address — If the address can't be validated, you'll see a warning. Double-check your entry for typos. You may still be able to proceed, but an invalid address could result in delivery issues.
Setting a Default Address
If you have multiple saved addresses, you can set one as your default:
- Go to Account → Addresses.
- Find the address you want as your default.
- Click Set as Default.
Your default address will be pre-selected at checkout, saving you an extra step. You can always choose a different address during checkout if needed.
Editing an Address
To update a saved address:
- Go to Account → Addresses.
- Click Edit next to the address you want to change.
- Make your changes and click Save.
Editing an address does not affect any orders that have already been placed with the old address.
Deleting an Address
To remove a saved address:
- Go to Account → Addresses.
- Click Delete next to the address you want to remove.
- Confirm the deletion.
If you delete your default address, you'll need to set a new default or enter an address manually at your next checkout.
Billing vs. Shipping Addresses
CoinDuffle distinguishes between shipping and billing addresses:
- Shipping address — Where your order will be delivered.
- Billing address — The address associated with your payment method. For credit card payments, this must match the address on file with your card issuer.
During checkout, you can choose to use the same address for both shipping and billing, or specify different addresses.
Tips for Managing Addresses
- Keep addresses up to date — If you move or change phone numbers, update your saved addresses to avoid delivery issues.
- Use descriptive labels — If you have multiple addresses (home, office, family member's house), give each a descriptive name so you can tell them apart at checkout.
- Verify before placing large orders — For high-value orders, double-check that your shipping address is correct. Once an order ships, redirecting a package can be difficult and may introduce security concerns.
- PO Boxes — Some shipping methods may not deliver to PO Boxes. If you're using a PO Box, verify that the shipping option supports it before placing your order.
