From $5,039.99
The 2009 Ultra High Relief Gold Double Eagle is a landmark one-troy-ounce gold coin struck by the United States Mint to honor the centennial of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' iconic Double Eagle design. Composed of 0. 9999 fine gold โ the highest fineness ever used for a U. S. gold coin at the time of issue โ it was produced using a specially developed ultra high relief process that required multiple die strikes to achieve its extraordinary depth and sculptural detail. The obverse reproduces Saint-Gaudens' majestic Lady Liberty striding forward, torch raised, olive branch extended, set against radiating sunbeams and a ring of stars, with the Roman numeral date MMIX. The reverse portrays a bald eagle in powerful mid-flight above a brilliant sunburst, framed by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, TWENTY DOLLARS, and IN GOD WE TRUST. The coin carries a $20 face value and was minted at West Point. This listing includes the original U. S.
