Fees & Pricing
CoinDuffle charges zero platform fees or commissions. Learn about our fee-free marketplace model and the only costs you'll encounter — standard Stripe payment processing fees.
Fees & Pricing
One of the biggest advantages of selling on CoinDuffle: we don't charge any platform fees, marketplace fees, or commissions. You keep 100% of your sale price.
Zero CoinDuffle Fees
Unlike most online marketplaces, CoinDuffle does not take a cut of your sales. There is:
- No platform fee — CoinDuffle does not charge a percentage of your sales
- No marketplace commission — Nothing is deducted from your revenue by CoinDuffle
- No monthly subscription fees — No base monthly cost
- No listing fees — No per-product listing charge
- No renewal fees — No charges for keeping listings active
- No featured placement fees — No pay-to-play for search visibility
- No withdrawal fees — No charge to receive your payouts
- No setup fees — No cost to create your store
- No import fees — No charge for importing products from Shopify or eBay
You keep every dollar of every sale (minus standard payment processing, explained below).
Payment Processing Fees (Stripe)
The only fee you'll encounter is the standard payment processing fee charged by Stripe — not CoinDuffle — for handling credit and debit card transactions:
Standard Stripe Rate
- 2.9% + $0.30 per successful card transaction
This is Stripe's standard US rate for online card payments. It covers:
- Credit and debit card processing
- Fraud detection and prevention
- PCI DSS compliance
- Currency handling
- Transaction security and encryption
This fee is charged by Stripe directly — it is not a CoinDuffle fee. Every platform that accepts credit cards pays this same rate (or higher). It's an industry-standard cost of doing business online.
Processing Fee on Refunds
When you issue a refund, the buyer receives their full money back. However, Stripe's original processing fee is not refunded to you. This means:
- You refund: $100 order
- Stripe's fee from the original transaction: $3.20 (2.9% + $0.30)
- Your net cost of the refund: $103.20 (you lose the original sale AND the processing fee)
This is a standard Stripe policy across all platforms and is an important reason to describe products accurately and minimize returns.
Fee Examples
Example 1: $50 Silver Eagle
| Line Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale price | $50.00 |
| Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30) | -$1.75 |
| Your net revenue | $48.25 |
| Effective fee rate | 3.5% |
Example 2: $500 Gold Eagle
| Line Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale price | $500.00 |
| Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30) | -$14.80 |
| Your net revenue | $485.20 |
| Effective fee rate | 2.96% |
Example 3: $2,500 Rare Coin
| Line Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sale price | $2,500.00 |
| Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30) | -$72.80 |
| Your net revenue | $2,427.20 |
| Effective fee rate | 2.91% |
Observation
The effective fee rate decreases as the order value increases, because Stripe's $0.30 fixed fee becomes a smaller percentage of larger transactions. On higher-value items like coins and bullion, your effective rate is very close to the base 2.9%.
Fees for ACH / Wire Orders
For orders paid via ACH or wire transfer (not processed through Stripe):
- No Stripe processing fee — The payment goes directly to your bank
- No CoinDuffle fee — CoinDuffle doesn't charge any fee on these orders either
- You keep 100% of the sale price
This makes ACH/wire payments the most cost-effective option for both you and your buyers, especially on large orders. See ACH/Wire Settings.

Pricing Strategy Tips
Calculating Your Margin
Since CoinDuffle doesn't take a cut, your pricing math is simple:
Your Revenue = Sale Price - Stripe Processing Fee (2.9% + $0.30)Example: You bought a coin for $40 and want $10 profit:
$50 sale price
Stripe fee: ($50 × 0.029) + $0.30 = $1.75
Your net: $50 - $1.75 = $48.25
Your profit: $48.25 - $40.00 = $8.25For Metal-Based Pricing
When setting your premium for metal-based products, factor in the Stripe processing fee:
Minimum Premium = Your Cost Above Spot + Desired Profit + ~3% for ProcessingCompared to Other Platforms
If you're selling a $500 coin:
- On CoinDuffle: You keep $485.20 (only $14.80 in Stripe processing fees)
- On eBay: You keep ~$421 after 13.25% final value fee + promoted listing fees + store subscription costs
That's roughly $64 more per sale on CoinDuffle.
