Inventory Import Overview
Import your existing product catalog from Shopify or eBay into CoinDuffle. Understand what gets imported, how the process works, and why importing saves you time.
Inventory Import Overview
If you're already selling on another platform, you don't need to recreate your entire product catalog from scratch on CoinDuffle. Our inventory import tools let you connect your existing Shopify or eBay store and bring over your products — including titles, descriptions, images, and pricing — in just a few clicks.
Why Import?
Save Time
Manually recreating dozens or hundreds of product listings takes hours or days. Importing can bring over your entire catalog in minutes.
Maintain Consistency
Importing ensures your product titles, descriptions, and images are consistent across platforms. No risk of typos or missing details from manual re-entry.
Get Selling Faster
The faster you have products listed, the sooner you start making sales. Importing lets you launch your CoinDuffle store with a full catalog from day one.
Keep Your SKUs
If you have an established SKU system, importing preserves it. Your internal inventory tracking stays intact across platforms.

What Doesn't Get Imported
Some data requires manual setup after import:
- Metal-based pricing configuration — You'll need to set up spot-based pricing and premiums manually if desired
- CoinDuffle-specific categories — While the importer maps categories as closely as possible, you may want to refine them
- Discounts and promotions — These need to be created fresh on CoinDuffle
- Customer data — Buyer information stays on the source platform
- Order history — Past orders are not imported
- Reviews and feedback — Platform-specific reputation data doesn't transfer
The Import Process at a Glance
- Connect your platform — Authorize CoinDuffle to access your Shopify or eBay account
- Select products — Choose which products to import (all or specific ones)
- Review field mapping — See how your product fields map to CoinDuffle fields
- Run the import — CoinDuffle fetches and creates your products
- Review and refine — Check imported products and make any needed adjustments
Imported products are created as drafts by default, giving you the opportunity to review and enhance them before publishing. You can add metal types, adjust pricing strategies, and refine descriptions before making them live.
Before You Import
Prepare Your Source Data
- Clean up your listings — Fix any typos, outdated descriptions, or missing images on your source platform before importing. It's easier to fix them there than after import.
- Check your images — Ensure all products have images that meet CoinDuffle's requirements (800×800px minimum)
- Review your SKUs — Make sure your SKUs are consistent and unique
Plan Your Pricing Strategy
Imported products will come in with their original fixed prices. After import, decide which products should use:
- Fixed pricing — Keep the imported price (good for numismatic items)
- Metal-based pricing — Convert to spot-based pricing (ideal for bullion)
See Pricing Strategies for guidance.
Plan Your Categories
Review CoinDuffle's category structure before importing. You may want to map your existing categories to CoinDuffle categories differently than the automatic mapping suggests.
After Import
Once your products are imported as drafts:
- Review each listing — Check titles, descriptions, images, and prices
- Assign metal types — If your products contain precious metals, set the metal type and weight
- Set up metal-based pricing — Convert bullion products from fixed to metal-based pricing
- Refine categories — Ensure each product is in the most appropriate CoinDuffle category
- Publish — When you're satisfied with a listing, publish it to make it visible to buyers

Duplicating Products
Clone existing products on CoinDuffle to quickly create variations or similar listings. Save time by duplicating and modifying instead of starting from scratch.
