Store Settings

Configure your CoinDuffle store's general settings including contact information, policies, shipping preferences, and operational details.

Store Settings

Your store settings control the operational aspects of your CoinDuffle store — from how you handle shipping to what policies you communicate to buyers. These settings work behind the scenes to ensure smooth transactions and clear expectations.

Accessing Store Settings

Navigate to Seller Dashboard → Store Settings to view and edit all of your store's configuration options.

General Settings

Store Status

Control whether your store is visible to buyers:

  • Active — Your store and all published products are visible on the marketplace
  • Vacation Mode — Your store page is visible but displays a message that you're temporarily unavailable. No new orders can be placed. Existing orders are unaffected.
  • Hidden — Your store and products are completely hidden from the marketplace. Use this if you need to take an extended break.

Vacation Mode is useful for holiday breaks, inventory transitions, or personal time. You can customize the vacation message buyers see.

Store Email

The email address used for customer-facing communications. This can be different from your account email. Order notifications and buyer messages will be sent to your account email regardless of this setting.

Return Address

The address printed on shipping labels as the return address. By default, this is your business address. If you use a separate warehouse, PO Box, or fulfillment location, set it here.

Shipping Settings

Default Package Dimensions

Set default package dimensions (length, width, height, weight) to speed up the shipping label purchase process. When you buy a label, these dimensions will be pre-filled.

  • Small flat rate: 8.625" × 5.375" × 1.625"
  • Medium flat rate: 11.25" × 8.75" × 5.5"
  • Large flat rate: 12.25" × 12.25" × 6"
  • Custom: Set your own default dimensions

For coin dealers, small flat rate boxes or padded flat rate envelopes are the most common choices.

Shipping Origin

The address your packages ship from. This is used to calculate shipping rates and generate labels. Defaults to your return address, but can be set separately if needed.

Handling Time

Set your expected handling time — the number of business days between when an order is placed and when it's shipped. This is displayed to buyers on product pages.

  • Same day — Orders placed before your cutoff time ship that day
  • 1 business day — The most common option for active dealers
  • 2–3 business days — Appropriate for part-time sellers or custom orders

Setting an accurate handling time builds trust. Consistently shipping faster than your stated time earns positive feedback.

Store Policies

Clear policies set buyer expectations and protect you from disputes. While CoinDuffle has platform-wide policies, you can set store-specific policies that are displayed on your storefront.

Return Policy

Define your return terms:

  • Return window — How many days buyers have to initiate a return (e.g., 7, 14, 30 days)
  • Condition requirements — Must items be returned in original condition/packaging?
  • Return shipping — Who pays for return shipping?
  • Restocking fee — Do you charge a restocking fee, and if so, how much?

A generous return policy increases buyer confidence and often results in more sales than it costs in returns.

Shipping Policy

Communicate your shipping practices:

  • Which carriers you use (USPS is integrated via EasyPost)
  • Typical shipping methods (Priority Mail, First Class, etc.)
  • Whether you offer insurance on all shipments
  • Any special packaging details (e.g., "All coins ship in protective flips inside padded mailers")

Authentication Guarantee

If you sell graded or certified coins, consider stating your authentication guarantee:

  • "All PCGS/NGC coins are guaranteed genuine"
  • "We offer a lifetime authenticity guarantee on all items"
  • "Raw coins sold as described; returns accepted within 14 days"

Tax Settings

Sales Tax

CoinDuffle handles marketplace sales tax collection and remittance automatically in states where it's required. You do not need to configure state-by-state tax rules.

Some states exempt precious metals from sales tax above certain thresholds. CoinDuffle applies these exemptions automatically based on the product category and order total.

Tax Reporting

At the end of the tax year, CoinDuffle will provide a 1099-K form if your sales exceed the IRS reporting threshold. Ensure your business information and EIN/SSN are accurate in your account settings.

Notification Preferences

Fine-tune which notifications you receive and how:

NotificationEmailPush
New orderAlways onOptional
Order shipped (confirmation)OptionalOptional
Payout sentOptionalOptional
New product questionOptionalOptional
Low inventory alertOptionalOptional
Buyer messageAlways onOptional

We recommend keeping "New order" and "Buyer message" notifications enabled as a minimum to ensure timely order processing and customer service.

Advanced Settings

Auto-Publish Products

When enabled, new products are automatically published (visible to buyers) when created. When disabled, new products are saved as drafts and must be manually published.

Default: Disabled — We recommend reviewing each listing before publishing.

Out-of-Stock Behavior

Choose what happens when a product's inventory reaches zero:

  • Hide from store — Product disappears from your storefront and search results
  • Show as out of stock — Product remains visible with an "Out of Stock" label (useful if you plan to restock)

Product Question Notifications

Enable or disable notifications when buyers ask questions about your products. If you have a large catalog, you may want to check questions on a schedule rather than getting notified for each one.

Saving Changes

After making any changes, click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. Changes take effect immediately. There is no need to republish your store or products after updating settings.
